How Cannabis medicine came into your life?

Cannabis came into my life on a beautiful sunny day in Puerto Rico. My friend offered to try this medicine for the first time. It completely changed my life at a young age.I always feel more open minded and I can understand myself better when using cannabis. When I found this medicine, I told my twin sister Tefa and she was also happy to try it after I told her how it would help me with my anxiety. It’s been a very special time of change, growth and healing. thanks to this medicine for helping us in that process. I see everything on a deeper understanding level and all my worries get resolved in minutes of reflecting what’s really important and what makes me a better person so I can help others. This medicine has helped me find myself every time I lose it. I am so grateful to have it in my life.

What has been your experience working with cannabis ?

At eighteen years old I moved to Washington State and it blew my mind that I was able to get the Cannabis license and I was able to get my medicine… four year after I moved to Northern California, it has been 7 years of unforgettable times up in the mountains. I feel like in heaven when I took the step to help grow this plant, I never imagined it was going to be such a big part of my life and the center of my work and I’m so grateful for all the opportunities.

How does cannabis improve your life?

I was diagnosed with Graves Disease and hyperthyroid. I struggled trying to find something that would help ease my symptoms, specifically my bulgy eye. I experimented for two years with different treatments hoping to make my eye return to normal. The doctor told me I would need a risky eye surgery that may cost me my sight. I began taking CBD instead and it helped ease the symptoms. The CBD along with exercise, yoga and patience healed my eye, getting it back to normal a few weeks before surgery!

I have also struggled with my lungs, which collapsed four times due to exposure to mold, resulting in surgery and near fatal condition. With my weakened lungs I had to learn different ways to medicate besides smoking. I now take cannabis in the forms of THC oils, edibles and CBD gummies to treat the pain.

What is something mermaid-y about you?  I like to go with the flow. I see life like an ocean, and I’m always going with the flow of each wave. I was born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico and I grew up going to the beach every week with my sisters. I would go on road trips around the island exploring beaches to go find the good waves. The ocean is my happy place. Much like the many waters of this planet I also like to spread life and growth to all those who appreciate this planet as our mother.
