Our Mermaids
Guiding you to Your Higher Self

How did cannabis come into your life?

My relationship with cannabis deepened about 12 years ago when my mother was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, malignant tumors, and struggling with mental illnesses. I wanted to find an alternative to the painkillers and challenges she was having with pharmaceuticals while sustaining her clarity of mind and finding ways to heal her ailments.

We began with Rick Simpson Oil- Phoenix Tears, accompanied by a change of diet and a positive focus on mental wellness. My mom became present with me, able to have full conversations while laughing pain-free, allowing us to find a bond that we had never shared before. She was happy and more at peace than ever before when cannabis was present in her system. Nothing could take the place of it. It was our missing link after so many years. I’m so grateful for the path it’s provided for my family and me.

About five years into this medicine journey, 99 High Tide came as an opportunity to further explore cannabis. I was thrilled to join a team of men and women so committed to wellness.

How has cannabis medicine improved your life?

I have chosen cannabis relief for all of my sports injuries – hyperextended MCL, minor tears in both ACLs, broken bones, torn ligaments in my calf and tight sciatic muscles. My whole life has been one adventure after another – skateboarding, dancing, horseback riding, swimming, surfing, skimboarding, snowboarding, hiking – finding all the ways I can enjoy movement while expanding my abilities!

This plant has been a catalyst for my education in plant medicine and supporting the community no matter where I am in the world. As a result of working closely with the plant, people began asking me how it can help their life, transforming the stigma around cannabis from fear to fascination and healing.

What is something mermaid-y about you?

I feel most fulfilled by ocean + wildlife education and conservation, building projects, plant medicine, climate awareness, movement, music, reading, creating, traveling and human relationships.

Every cell in my body wants to give back and be a part of a bigger picture. Open mind and Open Heart has been my motto and this has helped me positively grow, share and expand.

The 99 is my other family and I am so grateful to be a part of this ship!
