How did cannabis come into your life?
As a musical creator, cannabis came into my life and opened my mind to new perspectives and vantage points that expanded my artistic vocabulary.
Medicinally, it came into my life in 2012 when I endured a serious knee injury which required an ACL replacement as well as an LCL and MCL graft. Cannabis tinctures helped my pain levels, inflammation and insomnia which was invaluable in my overall recovery.
Lastly, seeing my mother’s health decline in light of an opiate dependency for AS, an autoimmune condition over 15 years was a breaking point. She is now on a daily sublingual RSO cannabis program that has completely replaced her need for opiates, and gained her life back in the process. This is a modern day medical miracle in my eyes, as her condition is also in a complete state of remission.
What’s your experience working in Cannabis?
My experience working with cannabis ranges from farms to the sales floor. The endocannabinoid system is our body’s natural endocrine system that processes cannabis, transforming it to proteins the body can use. There is no limit to the ways we can apply cannabis as personal medicine, the key is to de-stigmatize and educate!
What inspired you to work with cannabis ?
I’m inspired to work with cannabis because it is a natural solution to a plethora of medical issues that are currently treated by our conventional system with drugs that ravage the mind and body. I work with cannabis to perpetuate good with the knowledge I have in hopes that even just one less human will suffer needlessly in the future. The world works better with cannabis as it’s companion.
What’s mermaidy about you, that brings you joy and daily inspiration?
Something mermaid-y about me that brings me joy, purpose and intrigue daily is that aside from my cannabis career, I’ve dedicated my entire life to music since age 8.
I grew up singing in Church, theatre, art school, MN statewide competitions and professionally for ads, and NFL, NBA and MBA games from 8-18.
I graduated from Berklee College of music with a BFA in contemporary writing and production and am currently a published writer for Warner Music group.
I play guitar, bass and piano and since moving to CA in 2010, I have performed and toured with artists such as Ceelo-Green 2010-2011, Yo-Gotti 2017 and bow-wow-wow band as the lead singer 2011-2019.
Currently all my time outside of cannabis is spent creating original music, performing and touring with my Synth-pop driven Neo-Disco duo called PLASTY. PLASTY‘s siren songs can be found on all major streaming platforms.
I also love daily hot yoga, running on the beach and when I can find time skiing.
Fun fact, I was a semi pro downhill skier from age 14-17 before leaving for college in Boston. It taught me everything about being in tune with my body, and staying balanced, as well as driven through multiple disciplines.
I believe passion, movement, art and cannabis create a synergistic existence for me to which I find gratitude to be able to express daily !
Peace and Love my friends!
